Crank choice for 2.3 4g63 build

I am ordering a 2.3 shortblock but cannot decide which crank to go with. What do you guys suggest? Is the 4g64 crank good enough for 8500? rpm Aiming to hit around 650-700 whp.

If high revs are what you're after, you might want to consider other options rather than the 2.3 (85mm x 100mm).

Yeah I would not run a 2.3 to that.

I'd look into a 2.2 if you want revs

i would say probably 7500 maybe 8000 for a 2.3. If you want 8500 or more go with 2.0/2.1/2.2

Yeah, 8k max.

Look at the 2.2 if you want to rev higher

I ran the Manley billet crank and set the rev limiter to 8600 rpm. I would intend on shifting at 8400 rpm, but found I constantly hit the rev limit when set at 8500 rpm. I made over 100 pulls at 45ish psi on a 6466 making well over 800hp. If the engine is built well and balanced, it is unlikely you will have issues. Buschur mentions on his sight that his 2.3rpm engines have done track passes to 9500rpm, and rated for 8500rpm.

I had once pm'd buschur about rpm limits for his 2.3 and 2.3 rpm verisions. I remember he told me his normal 2.3 can be be revved to 8500 and some are even reving it to 8900 but he does not encourage the 8900.

I've ran my OEM 4G64 crank to 8400 several times but my peak power is at 7600. Therefore my best shift point is around 8k.
