Exedy Twin HD question

I purchased a Twin HD at a good price but.. it's not a push style clutch. They said it's rated at 550 lb/tq but I'm just curious what the limitations are before I start having issues with the throwout bearing. I'm going to upgrading my turbo to a GTX3076 or a GTX35R. I was thinking of limiting myself to a 550hp tune. AMS does sell the pull to push conversion kit.. it's just too expensive. Advice? Should I just stick to my FP green until I save up for both the turbo and conversion kit?

I've used them on cars with over 500 whp without any issues. Its a very streetable clutch without too much pedal effort. The only thing with twin disks is they do tend to chatter at idle.

That's a good start. My question remains how far do you have to push the pull style clutch before it starts giving you issues? What were those cars runnings before they starting popping the clips to their throwout bearings?

That was an issue of the past. Buy an "Act monoloc". People have been using them for some time now and have not had any issues with springs popping off of the tob.

Add the ACT monoloc and the clutch fork stop from STM or MAP and you are good to go. Mine is holding 650tq with no issues.

The noise at idle and decel is annoying. Kind of embarrassing when you spend over 1k for this clutch and it sounds like marbles are in your trans.

You're not going to have the monolock with a push-syle clutch. Pull type clutches are used mostly because of packaging/clearance issues in cars. Its not really a matter of holding power.
