I have been looking on the forums all over the place for my issue but can't seem to find anything. Okay so I have an Evo IX well only sometimes not all the time when I get on the gas accelerating I hear this sputter kinda sound kinda like a quick spitting noise almost like my BOV just keeps releasing then when I let off the throttle it does this noise kinda like an erk almost like a bearing or something getting caught up and it does this little jerk to it as well. I am not sure what it is I called turbosmart to see if it could be my BOV they told me to replace the spring but I wanted a second opinion first I was thinking it could also be my plugs but I am not sure. Any ideas of what you guys think my issue may be?? Thanks.

 

try some ngk br sparkplugs and gap them first for a cheaper option. if not that, i think you need a oem 9 bov.

 

If you give it gas will it accelerate normally? I had similar symptoms but*occasionally it wouldn't accelerate if I gave it gas. Not sure if this is what your car is doing. If it is I'd check plugs and the map sensor. My issue ended up being a bad map sensor.
