Stock 05 E8 clutch slipping, need advices guys.
Hi there,
I am still new to this one, got mine almost for 4 months, everything stock, even exhaust. Right now only 37010 miles on car. Firstly, found rpm doesnt match up speed like before since last month did my oil change, then realized it might be clutch slipping. Then, I found boost leak as well, after 3g rpm, car feels no torque at all.... asked someone, they said this could due to clutch slipping as well. So base on my current situation, what kinda of clutch should i replaced? OEM, ACT or Exedy Stage 1 HD? cars really low on mileage and i have no idea why this happened, never abuse my car during my ownership

It really depends on how much you plan on modding your car.
If you plan to keep it stock a, an OEM replacement clutch will be just fine.
As for doing some light modifications, a stage 1 or 2 clutch will hold up quite well depending on your goals.
I'm partial to competition clutch since they make quality clutches at an affordable price.

stock clutch
Sir, I have a stock clutch that has roughly 25K on it before upgrading. It is still strong shifting and no issues. During removal the techs at tuning shop said that it was still serviceable and lots of life left. I am not looking for an outrageous profit from it but if interested we can PM each other.

Sunday I was installing the ACD pump in my car when I noticed the inspection plug on the bottom of my trans. I thought to myself: Hey this clutch kinda feels a bit heavier than stock and has the infamous drivetrain growl caused by aftermarket clutches.
So I popped off the cover, low and behold I have an ACT HDSS clutch.
I was pretty excited to see this because I have ZERO high RPM lock-out issues and the clutch feels great, very comparable to what an OEM clutch feels like.
The CC stage 2 clutch is actually quite cheap, I used one in my 1GA DSM though and it was a very good clutch so I have no issues with it in first hand experience.
Light bolt ons and a tune you should be safe with most stage 2 clutches unless you track/abuse the clutch. And since you are primarily going to be street driven I'd recommend nothing too much higher for drivability reasons.
Hope this helps.
