and I think you are smoking crack. AWD with IRS rear is not same thing as IRS and no more FWD to share load. your just plain being stupid with your comparisons.... have at it. I will come back and tell you I told you so when the american rear goes in. the ignorance around here is unbelievable sometimes...

David why did you swap to the 3000 GT rear end to begin with? Why not just do the DSS axles on a 12 plate Evo rear?

Also are other transmissions going to be optional?

Speaking of ignorance, stop typing. You never answered the other question, what the **** have you actually accomplished in ten years of posting on here? I'll answer, NOTHING.

The axles in the 3000GT are substantially larger than the EVO axles, the ring gear is too. When I got the 3000GT parts back for the 1g DSM we built I couldn't believe how heavy duty those parts are, that's why I'm doing it to begin with. I had spare stuff here anyway.

Will a kit be made to do the swap for guys who don't go with the auto setup? Does it change any rear gearing or is it the same ratio as the Evo rear?.

The adapter plate allows any 5 speed SBC type trans to bolted up, I am not interested in putting together a manual trans full kit. The EVO rear is the same as the 3000GT with a 6 speed.

3000GT rear diff is in the car. AMS had one kit left and I snagged it, make the job easier, thanks to the guys over there for finding one.

Rear axles have been shipped to DSS and they are building a custom aluminum driveshaft for the project.

The steering rack is ordered along with the mounts. I have to machine and modify the front spindles, which is going to be a chore, so the ackermann is at least some what close to what it should be. Probably going to run it paralell after doing some research and reading on it.

The new BFIC is mounted in the car, rear entry, 2-3/4" outlet to match the throttle body and 2.5" inlet to match the turbo.

The collector is being welded up for the header and I'll start laying out the turbo fitment.

The wiring is going to take the longest and I am dreading it. I'm going to hide all the wiring, so it's going to be time consuming.

its all friendly banter for me. I think dave is a bit upset though. he doesnt know how to take negative criticism. never has. I already won the first part of the argument. he's not even going to try to see if stock rear will hold the power. there are no 1600whp 3kgts around running on stock diffs so it will be interesting to see if it holds. either way its a complete waste of a nice car turning into RWD. car. will have useless street power anything below 80mph. these are the type of cars I just love to educate on the streets of tampa with my reliable 500whp evo1.
