I saw your first response and no you don't have to explain yourself. I'll try and get some updates here, it's a PITA compared to putting them up from my phone on Facebook.

RWD and auto is the way to go drag racing.

Wonder how difficult it would be to adapt in some Strange front struts to drop a bunch of weight. Also very curious to see how the rear suspension behaves in this type of use.

FWIW, an AWD doesn't necessarily send half the torque to the rear. Weight transfer and VC torque limits play a big part in how much torque actually makes it back there. Regardless, seems like the 3000GT diff is 210mm on the ring gear? If so, it's only marginally smaller than the Supra rear diff that has held up in 1500HP cars.

Quick update. As always there are pics on our BR Facebook page.

The entire fuel system, brakes, driveshaft, rear end/axles are all completed. We have to weld in two gusset to the mid plate mounts and then the engine and such is coming back out of the car. We will then be painting the engine bay/front of the car and installing the torque converter.

Then it will go back together and get wired. Finding the motivation to work on it is what is making it go slowly.

Update.

Engine bay is painted and nearly all the mechanical stuff is finished. Should just be another day or two before everything is completely done and I can move onto the wiring.

Very clean!

Are you utilizing any of the factory engine mount locations on the block, or is the motor supported entirely by the tranny?

The engine is supported by the mid plate, there is a rear trans cross mount and there will be a tubular mount that uses the stock timing belt end mount.
