CT9A ACD question

Coming from the X I know that the ACD pump is known to fail under as yet undetermined causes (tech bulletin out on it, limited dealership support; ticking time bomb that seems to MOSTLY affect USDM MY08 GSRs from my research). I also know that the VIII is also prone to failure (cause?)....is the IX the same? Is the ACD pump identical in all aspects/years/models of the CT9A?

Put silicone around the edges of anywhere you think water may enter. Or relocate to the trunk.

A good fix is to move it to the trunk - out of the element.

From what Ive seen most of the failures occur in areas that salt the road. That's why most of the ones that need to be disassembled are extremely corroded. I wouldn't worry about it failing, but you can always get rebuild kit on order early if you're worried.

Another option would be a weather resistant bag like they use in the RC world.. Haven't seen it done but would likely help keep water off the pump.
