Ive got a comp s3. Engagement changes all the time, very inconsistent. Locks out , pedal effort is ok
Act is a better option in my option. Especially with the mileage you drive and have gotten from the previous.

i have a comp 2 low boost but stroker and have no lock out, medium pedal and no stink. guess i am just lucky . the harder i drive it the better it feels. i am not making massive power but as a daily i think this is a great clutch. also its the same pressure plate on its second disc.

Don't worry, the smell goes away right around 5K miles. Just completed a cross country drive with mine last month, I'm at 9k miles DD.

Exedy Twin SD. Feels almost like stock, and can take abuse. NO issues.
