Opinion on DD clutch?
Happy Easter.
And now a question to my Evo guys.
Seeing that I most likely have to remove my transmission on Grandpa anyway, what clutch would you recommend?
Remember it is driven everyday, mostly highway pulls, no launches.
I had an ACT HDSS which is possibly the failure I have now (disc) but who knows, could be the 372,000 input shaft on the transmission, LOL
OEM clutch lasted to 209k, the ACT was in there for 163k.
I figure maybe a ACT HDG6 or XTG6?
I don't want too aggressive or a multidisc to change often due to the miles I drive.
Some people are saying Comp stage 3?
Let me know. Thanks

How much power/tq are you making? I'd recommend the exedy stage 1 with the heavy duty pressure plate or the comp stage 2. I have the comp stage 2 with mild bolt ons and I'm super happy with it! It drives just like stock, very smooth and great for daily driving that I do. I feel like the stage 3 would be a pain if you have to slip it on hills in NY State.

I had the Comp stage 2 in my last Evo and loved it. Drivability and pedal pressure was great. I sold the car after a few thousand miles so I am not sure how long it lasted. I did read a few reviews of people that love the clutch but it just didnt last that long.

I got it installed in October and probably put about 6,000 miles on it since. It took some time to fully break it in but it feels really good now. I haven't launched it yet but I expect it wouldn't last long if you drag race it a ton. I do highly recommend it for those that daily drive their car and need something that will hold a little more tq than a stock clutch.
I have/had a comp stage 3. It lasted 30k miles of abuse, no complaints there. While it held well, pedal feel and engagement was terrible. I hated it. Switching to an ACT XTSS when the trans goes back in this weekend...
Don't forget all, the OP is getting maximum mileage out of his previous clutch choices. Instances that are less than say 50k before they are KIA or require a rebuild are probably not up his alley.

Thanks guys. Yeah, I'm talking to the companies listed. Trying to see what to do.
Car makes about 480-510hp on e85. Not confirmed, just during the logging for tuning.
I'll get it on a Mustang and be disappointed,LOL
Thanks for the input.

You are probably making way too much power for the stock clutch. However, I gotta say a few words on its behalf. I own an '03 Evo 8 and was never fond of the clutch the vehicle came with new. However when it went I installed another stocker with the Mitsubishi emblem. Sweetest clutch I have ever driven on. Mitsubishi has made some changes.
I've got the comp stage 3 on my 9 and I make 400whp and 356wtq. In my opinion it's right on the limit of being a livable daily driver. It's perfectly fine if you're not in constant traffic, but if you are you're not gonna love it. It is a wonderful clutch though
I have the comp stage 2 and I hate it. It smells if u launch it or if you slip it a little too much. Like backing up into a spot. I have had it for 4k miles. I want a different clutch but they are a pain in the *** to change.
