I purchased the AMS Race Shaft for my Evo 8 rebuild, and the bearing that came with it was ruined by my lack of care, and so I purchased a new OEM one and had it put in its place. However, when I am trying to put the shaft into the bearing, it's not going in. Are the OEM bearings and the ones that come with the Race Shaft different? If so, what bearing do I need to buy so that it will fit?

 

I'm running an oem bearing with mine.

 

Was it a very tight fit to get it in?

 

no it just slid right in like it should.

 

those bearings should not slide right in, they are a press fit.

 

Not talking about the bearing. Talking about the shaft sliding into the bearing..........

It sounds like the OP might have messed up the lip of the bearing pressing it in.
