Ok, little late with update but thought I would share. You guys were correct, turbo is laggy. Kinda works for dd, not boostin while getting back and forth to work, not burning thru fuel. But once you boost, which is around 5.5-6rpm, feels awesome. Went to track and was very disappointed but only did 2 passes and I'm no pro by any means. With that said, will be looking to sell atleast turbo, love the manifold and setup, just maybe swap for smaller turbo. Any recommendations would be great. Here is hp graph for anyone interested. Was told by tuner turbo keeps power and would continue if motor could rev higher but still stock on stock cams. Upgrading cams and head would help but would rather just swap turbo for now.
You appear to have an issue, perhaps multiple issues. The fuel is down in the 10s at WOT, which is too rich for best power, but that's a minor issue as compared to the realization that you are only seeing 400 whp with this turbo delivering 32+ psi. There is another another 100+ whp on the table, even with the lowly factory cams. Whether that is a fact of tuning (e.g. ignition table), mechanical issues (e.g. pressure leaks), or both is impossible to determine from this vantage point. Did you perform a pressure test and check the intake system thoroughly for leaks? Oftentimes those 'old coils and plugs' are actually pressure leaks.
Tuner did perform boost leak test, found and repaired several concerns. Block does have some mileage, 160k to be exact. Head was taken off 25k miles ago after broken timing belt, had it cleaned, decked, ported, valve job, new guides, all at reputable machine shop. And I performed compression test before install and numbers were good and even across the board. So maybe I should perform another boost leak test to be sure?
It's worth a little of your time to do that. Be sure to check the hidden EGR setup on the back side. And of course, we cannot see the ignition map, but I suspect it's more than that. Also, know that you have probably 50 whp (or more) in a cam upgrade, but first things first.
I would switch tuners, to call that a complete tune is ridiculous. AFR should never dip below 11:1. On pump gas you should be in 11-11.5:1 range at WOT. There is probably 20-30hp in simply leaning it out.
What fuel is this on? My red makes this power at 26 psi on 91 octane. The stock cams aren't helping you, but that turbo flows a lot of air.
Thx for the advice. Will do boost leak see if anything pops up. As for fuel, running pump gas. Guess if I dont find anything can take it to get retuned. Just sux putting out the money again for a tune.
Perhaps, but is the cost of a tune worth another 100 whp or so? As it stands, you're not getting your money's worth with all that lag and only 400 whp to show for it. Virtually no one here would be satisfied with that.
I urge you to find the most reputable EVO tech within a day's driving distance, and arrange for that person to give your car a complete inspection and retuning. If you know how to conduct compression and leakdown tests, both would be worth your while to do in advance, and will save you time and money. Something is amiss here, and we can't diagnose that from where we sit. If you need to know who in your area is someone known to be knowledgeable and trustworthy when it comes to EVO tech, that is something with which forum members can help you.
Very valid point. Really do appreciate the help. I'm in the Exton, Pa area. About 30min from philly. I'm about 2 hours from Cbrd in York. Heard great things about them. If there is anyone else please feel free to post

I saw Downingtown and thought it was probably PA. So CBRD is an easy choice, though York traffic blows. I think TScomptuned may have an actual shop now, send him a pm. I think he's closer than CBRD, and appears to like troubleshooting cars, lol.
