carrillo is one the best rods out suppose to be but yet all evo guys go to I beams or aluminum rods.
I do not know what rods to use either

is anyone using carrillo rods

I have 156mm Carrillo pro H beams (long rod 2.0). Block is in getting machined now, so it will be a while before I can put it together.

There are overall stronger rods, and there are lighter rods (aluminum/titanium). But I have yet to see another steel rod thats both very strong and very light like the Carrillos...

If your going the steel route and money isn't an issue then carrillo h beams are awesome and weigh much less then the i beam variant.

Otherwise aluminum is your best option but I understand if you don't have the experience with setting them up.

Just as a matter of interest I've got some images of my 2.0LR that's just being finished up today for a install next week. The first images is of the R&R ibeams and the second of the Manley's. You can see why the R&R's are lighter, with the narrow body, still good for 1200hp apparently. The reason there's two sets of rods is because the R&R rods are actually for a 6 bolt crank (I found out halfway through the build) and I didn't have time to have them machined. I'll be putting them up for sale at some point.
