ECU controlled boost. Road Race engineering sells a really nice solenoid that is plug and play on the Evo..

Boost Solenoid so it can be controlled by the ECU.

The grimspeed is the same as any of the crap aem sells. its just you have to tell it it is there and configure aem to see it. Another downfall for aem in my opinion. Although I bet you can get it to work as a stock boost controller with aem now that I think about it being it should have support for that. But I agree with the other guys ecu boost

1000hp, MBC and done. It easy to adjust, and if you are making that kind of power why waste your time tuning an EBC setup.

If you want to run a wide range of boost then go 3 or 4 port mac ebc, and just put new plugs on the harness. The MAC ebc solenoids are what all the other companies use just rebranded.

But for ease of use and setup a good old MBC has never let me down. I am currently running a 4port, and I will be switching to a 3port because the 4port is just to sensitive for me.

An MBC produces very different amounts of boost depending on what gear the car is in. Far less then ideal when the ECU is very capable of controlling boost..

Being that you already run one the benefit is you can hold boost all the way to red line rather than having it fall off losing power through out the power band. I know some guys run that hybrid boost and I'm not really sold on it. I mean sure you get the spool of the mbc and keep the boost all the way through the powerband with the ebc but I'm not totally sold. I didn't notice any difference from running ebc vs mbc when I did any of my tuning spool wise.

I wouldn't over complicate things just stick with a 3 port. I don't think there is any advantage of going to a 4 port at least that I know of.

The 4 port allows you to run a weak spring and still get high boost levels.

Good for a Fwd car where you can be at 5psi in first gear and 40 psi on 3rd or 4th.

A hybrid setup is not what you want. The wastegate opens up once it reaches a certain boost level, a boost controller does not change the spool up time from one controller to the next.

I would recommend a MAC 3 port valve.

Better question is why you're trying to hit 1000hp with a 2.4L

I like ECU controlled boost through a solenoid. Boost by gear is nice to have.
