Clutch recommendation for an Evo VI

So, I have known since getting my car that the clutch is on the way out, but today the symptoms got worse.

I was reversing and the car started chucking.. felt like the clutch was slipping. So on the way home, I applied the brakes and the throttle in second gear and low and behold my rpms slowly crept up, without increasing my speed.

At the moment, my car is basically stock except for a cat-back and an intake filter, boosting 1.1 bar.

Next summer, I will have hot-side inter cooler piping, fuel pump, 3 port boost control solenoid, Tomei DV, Maperformance 02 eliminator front pipe (recirc), an aftermarket wastegate actuator (havent decided on turbosmart vs a evo 8-9), evo 7/8/9 intake, COP, and an Evo 7 ECU. With this, I am hoping to hit 250-270whp on a dyno dynamics dyno(in Airdie, Alberta (1090m elevation above sea level))... I have read different things different places, but I think those expectations are realistic. Not sure of torque numbers.

I am wondering what people would recommend for a good clutch kit for my car. Primarily, it is a street car.

Thank you in advance for your time, if you have the comment of "search function" and link a thread that I tried to find but couldn't that is useful help as well.

I'm running the exedy twin plate (HD) in mine and really like it, very impressed how it operates on the road.

How much of a street car is it? stop and go traffic lots?

It is my summer car / sunday driver. Stop and go traffic is definitely possible.

Right now I am looking at changing to an Evo 8/9 Exedy Stage 1 organic.. I have read they should be good for 424 ft-lbs about?

How long is the expected clutch life of a twin plate?

ACT HDSS. You don't have lofty power goals, it will hold more than fine. Keep it simple. No reason to spend all the money on a multi plate, and no reason to lose the drive ability...

I am waiting on pricing between the ACT HDSS and the Exedy Stage 1 HD organic, will go from there unless popular opinion says otherwise.

What should I expect for hours of labour on this job? (not one I am taking on myself)

I can do mine in 5-6 hours. What a shop charges is different. Shops in U.S. seem to range from 500-750 USD for clutch replacement labor.

Thanks.. I have been reading about some issues with the ACT. I was thinking I would just go with the OEM TOB instead of using the ACT TOB.. but has that issue been solved, or is it still a good idea to replace the ACT TOB in the kit with an OEM?

I always use an OEM TOB. It is too much work to not purchase a $75 part to avoid issues...

So, I spoke with an Exedy rep and think I will be going with the Exedy Stage 1 Organic with the MF04 flywheel and the OEM TOB.

He said that "the regular Exedy 05083 should handle up to 396 ft-lbs of torque at the wheels all day (more than I will have). The rep actually had an evo with "all the bolt ons, exhaust, headers, cams, etc" and said the 05083 would be more suitable for me and the clutch feel would be closer to factory. He made it sound like the HD would be much more than just slightly stiffer pedal feel. I think he actually said "quite a bit heavier."

I have heard from a few people that the Exedy Stage 1 Organic HD is a pretty stiff pedal increase.. anyone have it?
