Beating a dead horse. Turbo question.

I know recently a lot of turbo options have changed and was going to ask one question. What stock replacement turbo option is left that uses a mhi housing still?

Forced Performance has some MHI housings available now if you're wondering because of them no longer using MHI housings... Unless they ran out that is. Check their site.

Ya I knew they did and I called them but they want 1700 to send my 8.5 turbo in and get a fp green in return. Just seems steep in my opinion. May just buy a 9 turbo and stay small turbo for awhile.

FP has a handful of MHI housing left so you can still order a green, red, or black. Their JB is around $1700 and their BB stuff is around $2700. You can also look into Blouch, their new line of turbos uses a MHI housing. Their stuff is a little cheaper than FP's.

Agreed. And OP the new Blouch turbos are basically CBRD's old turbos. Letting you know in case you want to look up some info on them.

Im in the same boat. I have a BBK and it's just not enough to make full use of my built motor. I'd like to step up to something bigger but still bolt on. Options are rather limited. As far as I can tell the Black is the only real option.

The Blouch 3.0XTR could be a good option

I believe so. FP also has the JB and BB MHI turbos for sale as well. You could get a brand new black if you wish

What are you talking about? BBK-B (Blouch 2.0) and the FP Red are both great options for built motors...especially strokers. Even with a 2.4, it can take a little bit to spool the Black. Not a lot of info on the Blouch 3.0 (dynos, etc).

When I called fp they said since I have an 8 turbo the only option I have is to send it in for bb green or red and it's 1700. They wouldn't do a jb upgrade unless I had a 9 turbo to send in. I will look into blouch, thought they were mainly Subaru so never thought to look.

If you're keeping the stock compressor housing I can see why they said that. However, if you're getting an anti-surge cover, then what they said doesn't make sense to me.
