Evo 8/9 reliability whp/wtq?

I've done some searching and I can't really find a definitive answer on the whp/wtq the car can reliably hold. I know the 4G63 can take roughly 400 whp. As for the trans t case and diff i know they're a little more susceptible to failure. I know it varies relative to use, supporting mods, and preventative maintenance but are there any safe numbers? Or what numbers and mods are you running and with what problems? Thanks all.

This stuff is well documented if you read around. And the engine can handle ~400wtq. How much power it produces with that much torque depends on what turbo you're using.

Turbo should not make any difference. That would make a difference in how much boost it takes to make a give power level but horsepower is a calculation of torque and RPM.

HP = (TQ x RPM) / 5252

Yes it does. A bigger turbo can hold boost, and make more torque at 8000rpm, thus, more horsepower...

Now I see what you're saying. My Green at 100% WGDC makes around 30 psi at 7500 RPM but a Red or Black could make more boost and more power on the top end?

Smaller turbos offer more low rpm boost and fall off at the top where as the bigger ones take a little longer to spool up but continue to increase boost
