Front drive shaft issues

Front drive shaft won't lock in place it's JDM so usdm drivers side. It's in there loose now and trying to avoid full turning lock to avoid leaks. Any reason why they wouldn't lock. I had and old tcase lying around and it goes straight in.

Is the stub shaft missing either of the hog rings?

The c-clips lose their tension and usually stop holding in the axle after being in and out a couple times. It's good practice to just replace them each time the axle comes out.

It shouldn't go straight in. You should have to wack it in with a dead blow (plastic) hammer.
