Exclamation Cracked manifold, Greddy TD06-25G kit, need to find replacement!

So it looks like my manifold cracked, it held up for a long time before splitting right down the middle. It looks like the previous owner welded it as well, or perhaps it's a weld line from the factory. Either way, I'm having absolutely ZERO luck finding a replacement for this thing.

It's definitely a Greddy manifold, but the only manifolds for Evo 8's I'm seeing don't have a spot for the wastegate on the left.

The whole setup was sold as a kit, I definitely dont want to have to purchase the whole kit just to replace the manifold.

Some pictures of the mess below.

Unlees greddy still offers that part, I think you're going to be stuck getting a manifold built, or getting a whole new turbo kit.

JBWeld FTW.

I would pull the manifold off and find a good welder. Otherwise it is time to track down a new option. I have never even see one of those manifolds.

It's not.

Sadly greddy has no information about this kit on their website. I tried emailing them and got no response. I checked all over on the manifold for a part number to no avail.

There are some OLD posts on this forum from 2004-ish about people with these kits, seems a lot of them had the same issue, mine just held out a LOT longer!

I will help you find a manifold if you could show decent pictures of the gasket.

rewelding is a very temp fix. I recently took a cracked manifold to a good welder. he wouldnt touch it. said used carbon impregnated metal is a waste of time trying to weld. I have done it with mig welding. but the welds will be contaminated and not very strong

That's the old t67 25g type of exhaust manifold by Greddy, they do not make them anymore. If I am not mistaken they use a 3 bolt triangular flange exhaust housing at the manifold side or a T25 flange type. They replaced the older style manifold with these : http://www.rhdjapan.com/trust-greddy...td06-ct9a.html

Options :

- Buy one of the above if you have the 3 bolt triangular flange.

- get a T25 or T3 4 bolt t67 25g exhaust housing along with a T25 externally gated manifold. http://shopping.kinugawaturbo.com/mh...ange8cm-1.aspx

http://shopping.kinugawaturbo.com/tu...-band-2-1.aspx

-Get a second hand good condition stock exhaust manifold, port it, adapt (drill, weld) an external wastegate flange on it, then get (or make one) an adapter flange to bolt the exhaust housing to the oem manifold.

Welding the Greddy manifold will only buy you some time before it cracks again.

I think it could be welded. Heat it up to ~400F in the oven. Weld with a high nickel rod and ping with a hammer after each weld as it cools to relieve stress. When done stick it back in the oven or kitty liter and let slow cool.

Evo8cy is correct, that's exactly what this is.

I've attached pictures in case anyone cares to see, I didnt have time to pull the head shield off to get a better shot but Evo8cy is spot on with the 3 bolt triangular flange.

I had a local Evo mechanic here in German welded it for me, but it's cracked around the back of the manifold and under as well, it's a pretty extensive crack that will require doing what 240Z TwinTurbo said above.

I feel like it's a damn shame to replace the whole setup just because the manifold is cracked, the turbo has no play and is in great shape.

So is this http://www.rhdjapan.com/trust-greddy...td06-ct9a.html what I need?

That flange would just as easy to make as a T3 or T4 flange. Have someone with a waterjet cut you a flange, then go get a real manifold built. That greddy one clearly has issues for it to crack like that.

Yes that is the kit you need to use your turbo with, but there are less expensive options to sort things out. To me the best is to modify a stock manifold, as you will only need to buy either a new stock manifold, such as a forced performance one or get a good condition low mileage used stock manifold for very little money, port it, convert it to be externally wastegated using the 38mm tial and screamer you already have and then have a shop fabricate you an adapter flange to bolt the t67 turbo on. The stock or fp cast manifold will never crack, or it will take a long long time to do so.
