You made me realize that my automotive knowledge is way low. Part of my confusion comes from the factory labeling that hose assembly the "vacuum/boost hose assembly". I have a new one sitting in my tool box. I assumed that each port flips back and forth between vacuum and boost. What an idiotic assumption, huh? Geeze

the engine does suck air through the filter/maf/etc..But the solenoid would be closed so that reference line wouldn't see vacuum. If I understand how the solenoid works when not controlling boost, that is.
