My apologies as I'm sure this has been answered before but it's it possible to make 400 horsepower on a stock td05 on pump fuel (93)? Would it be pushing the limits of the turbo and just kill it?

I've got basic bolt ons and a protune. My goals are to hit 400 but I want to keep the stock 9 turbo. Would big cams and injectors get me there. Can the stock rods take that abuse?

I daily my 9 and it definitely sees lap days in the summer so I would like the car to be able to handle that power level.

Mods so far: Buschur intake, full 3 inch turbo back exhaust with wastegate dump and a 3 inch LICP. The car was tuned at Innovative in Buffalo by Mike. Made 282 on the Mustang. Factory boost controller maxed out at 18psi.

Not really going to happen on pump gas. Need E85 or 71hta CHRA upgrade.

71hta is an amazing turbo given its price and the fact thats its basicallt just a compressor wheel upgrade. I made 450whp with it on E85 at 30psi. It's a spool monster that pulls like a freight train. Amazing boost threshold and makes power all the way to redline, doesn't fall off. IMO its the best street turbo for the stock 2.0L motor.

Much better than a 20g. Stock or faster spool, 400hp capable on pump gas, 450+ capable on E85.

I used all the oem lines for my 71hta. So yes the feed line is from the cylinder head.

Sorry op but I think you might want to know this as well. So guys 20G won't deliver the same power as 71 hta? If we don't care about spooling characteristics .

You'll still need to find a 10.5cm evo 8.5/9 turbine housing.

As far as 71hta vs 20g. Idk about max power. But I know the 71hta kills it in boost threshold.

Haha no thank you. You asked the same questions I would.

E85 isn't an option for me as it hasn't really taken off in Canada. I think you guys sold me on a 71hta

And I'm also assuming just the 71HTA upgrade wouldn't be enough. Big cams also necessary for 400?

I did 403whp on my IX at 25psi on crappy 91. Cams would make even more. Probably 415 to 425whp depending on fuel. I have a set of mivec S1's for sale if you're interested. Would be a perfect suit for this turbo

No, it'll do it on stock cams. GSC S1's will make more and won't hurt driveability.

Can you post a dyno graph when you have mods and turbo up grade? would like to see this setup on 93 pump gas. Also would like to see when the turbo kick in on rpms and how much tq/hp it makes? I would to go on this setup route on my evo soon.

I just checked FP's site and the 71HTA is going for over 2500! That can't be right
