Buschur SD vs N1 vs Tomei

Hey guys I've got an Evolution VIII with a JDM rear bumper currently running a 3" TBE from B&B that's just too quiet for my taste.

I straight piped it by remover just the axelback as the rest is already straight pipe and it sounded nice and mean but a touch too loose for me so I'm trying to get the kit aggressive deep sound I can.

My thought as it stands now is to

A) Buy the Buschur SD rear section and a 3" flange and have some one fab that to the rest of my B&B piping

B) Buy an Invidia N1 system because I loved the dual variant on my FR-S

C) Try Tomei Expreme set up because the clips sound great and I used to have an excellent UEL Header from them on the FR-S with superb quality and sound.

D) Just leave it straight piped because nothing is much better and wouldn't be worth the money so instead have a small extended section made to clear bumper with a polished tip welded on

I don't DD this is a pleasure use only car so I don't have concerns that most people do and have a natural inclination to louder deeper exhaust.

Thanks for the help.

I don't like the sound of the Buschur SD. The magnaflow sounds great though.

Can you expand on the thought? I've not had the pleasure to hear them in person only potato cams on YouTube

The SD still sounds raspy to me. The magnaflow tones down the raspyness some, and just produces a nice, fairly throaty, note. And the small magnaflow that he uses is still pretty loud, especially once it wears out some.

I had a Buschur SD hooked up to a 3" turbo back with no catalytic converter and resonator. It was pretty loud, but I actually liked the sound. People would look at me weird as I rolled through town. I didn't mind the sound but for the sake of having a decent conversation while my girlfriend rides with me, I ditched this setup and went with 2 17" Burns Stainless mufflers, one in the middle and the other at the back. It's still a little on the loud side but toned down and no rasp.

Did you ever straight pipe your car? I'm curious how close having only the SD will be.

I'll have to look into the Burns idea, I hadn't heard of them before

By straight pipe I'm assuming you mean no cat, resonator, and muffler. If that's the case, then no. There's very little if any benefit by going straight pipe. The SD was pretty much one step above straight pipe with less raspiness. It's loud and it drones on the freeway. If you added a resonator to the SD setup I'm sure it would kill the rasp and it would sound good.

The reason I went with Burns Stainless was because their mufflers are rebuildable. They're not exactly cheap and you're still going to need someone to weld them in for you.

Big fan of the Tomei System. Lightweight, sounds great, fits perfect and fine for long drives. I have a few videos on my channel of that system at work. Best money I ever spent.

I have the buschur bullet full catless TBE. Sounds great. Kind of loud but I like it.

It all depends on your motor and turbo setup as well. I run an FP black so its a little louder than a stock turbo obviously.

I have a straight pipe section as well. Too raspy and obnoxious for me.

I haven't heard the SD in person, but I assume its a little louder than the bullet. I would get the bullet exhaust.

The link that convinced me on the Tomei System

My links

My car lost 50lbs and picked up almost 50whp from the DP,02 and catback on the same dyno within the same week, on the same tune. (stock turbo)
