so my alternator is soaked with engine oil and its only the underside.
ive checked the head gasket to be ok and oil pan does not leak either. what else could possibly be in the area causing this major leak? any inputs would be great!!

Could it be power steering fluid. The line runs right over the alternator

If not, clean up residue & run the motor at idle (maybe on a ramp) & use a flash light to inspect

Well, then you'd know if you dumped oil back there. It is easy to do.

When my Evo was new and I was in the process of performing the first oil change and pouring new oil a little too fast I got the funnel full, it toppled and the alternator got an oil bath. That caused some blue smoke that didn't come from the car. Thanks for the flashback.

but you mean you dumped oil from top right? its all over the bottom which makes me think that its being splashed around.

If you've had the valve cover off and didn't RTV the corners, ect... It will leak.
