Evo burning oil?

Dont know if this is normal/ok or not...

I changed my oil 3000 miles ago. since then, I've added a Work P2 flash, axle back exhaust and throttle body. With the new parts, I've been driving my evo pretty hard.

checked the oil today and needed to add almost a full quart! The car seems to have been running fine.

Is this kind of oil consumption to be expected with aggressive driving, or should I take my evo in?

My Evo consumes a bit of oil too, part of the reason we need to check our oil regularly.. 1 quart in 3000 miles seems pretty dramatic, however its possible the oil is getting blown from the crankcase breather (into the intake pipe) under hard driving.. try installing an oil catch-can in place of the breather tube and see how much oil gets trapped in there before worrying.

I've found if I do a lot of "spirited" driving - really flooring the throttle and the like, then oil consumption can be quite high.

But if I don't go on any canyon runs and the like with friends then I barely notice the oil go down.

1 qt every 3k is fine for a high strung boosted engine

Funny things is that I lose oil only stuck in traffic.

Go figure I can beat the hell out of my car and not lose a drop of oil.
