Fuel Pump not getting Power after installation of several new parts

I have an '05 Evolution which aside from a small split on the head gasket, ran perfectly fine before I decided to pull it apart.
In addition to replacing the head gasket, I installed the following other items: Kelford 272/272 Cams, Kelford Beehive Valve Springs, ARP Head-Studs, Precision Turbo 880cc Injectors & Walbro 255lph Fuel Pump.
I got the car all back together and tried to fire it up to find that I was not getting any fuel. The fuel pump does not make any noise when I turn the ignition on.
I ran run jumper wires from the battery to the fuel pump sending unit (as the Service Manual say to do), the 255lph Walbro works fine. I have triple-checked each electrical connection, have checked continuity on all three fuel pump relays and still nothing.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Ben

Did you solder the joints on the wire harness or is it plug and play? Sorry, not totally up to snuff on the older models. If you soldered them, you could have a cold solder joint.

Another test is to keep everything hooked up and do continuity tests from each junction in the wires. (Power to relay, relay to pump.

I'm guessing you've taken voltage measurements on the pump while trying to prime?

Thanks for the reply Mortose.
These is no voltage at the pump while trying to prime.

Have you cranked the engine over? The fuel pump doesn't prime by just turning the key on, you have to crank the engine..

You should be able to hear the pump kick on when the switch is turned over to ACC or whatever is before ON.

I have indeed cranked the engine over, no fuel.

I have read about half & half, some folks say the Evolutions do prime when I turn the key forward, others say that it does not.
Never had a car that did not prime when I tuned the key forward... maybe it's an Evolution-thing?

Yea, the fuel pump doesn't run unless the engine is spinning. The ECU has to see rpm signal from the crank sensor. If you have EvoScan, do a log while cranking and make sure it registers rpm, which we'll tell you the crank sensor is working.

You're probably hearing something else cycle. The fuel pump does not run unless the engine is spinning.

Thanks latsgetthisdone!
Perhaps the couple of 3-second cranking cycles were not enough to get the fuel up to the injectors.
I might manually pressurize the system with the jumper-wires then try cranking it over for a little more than 3 seconds.

If you have a good battery, just crank it for 15 seconds at a time. It should start on the 2nd or 3rd try.

I coated the new cams and other rotating parts in the valve train pretty well with lube... just was hoping to get the oil pressure up really quick and avoid cranking over the engine excessively.
I will try cranking the engine over for 15 seconds at a time afterwork.
Thanks letsgetthisdone.

When cranking that long, you'll likely notice the low oil pressure light go out either on the first or second try.

Thanks a lot Letsgetthisdone, you were correct!
All she needed was some fuel!
David Buschur got back to me and confirmed that the stock ECU does not allow the fuel pump to prime when the key is in "on" position.
I loosened the two bolts that connect the fuel line to the fuel rail, used jumper wires to power the fuel pump until fuel started to trickle out of the line then tightened the bolts back up!
Fired right-up as soon as I hit the ignition!
Thanks evolutionm.net!
