CBRD no longer sells the BBK. Now its direct from Blouch as the 1.0/2.0/3.0 http://www.bptstore.com/Mitsubishi-Turbos_c_10.html

Is a Blouch dominator 1 or 2 a direct drop in?
Meaning no specialty oil lines or anything ?

It is a stock frame bolt on turbo. I believe it uses stock lines. Maybe contact MAP to verify, and see if they can give you special evom pricing https://www.maperformance.com/produc...vo9-dom-2-0xtr

I feel as if the 2.0 would be overkill on a stock block, no?
I also plan on staying on stock head studs.

I've had my eye on the mapEF2.5 but it's been out of stock for a while ?

Plenty of people ran CBRD BBKB's on stock blocks.
BBK Full = Blouch 1.0
BBKB = Blouch 2.0

Search BBK dyno charts and build threads for to get an idea of the spool/power differences.

Ya seems like most guys are on corn, so it's tough for me to compare.
Closest e85 station is just over 1 hr from me. It's not feasible to run it

If I remember right the BBK/1.0 spools ~200-400rpm faster, but the BBKB/2.0 makes ~20-40 more whp up top. The amount up top is very dependant on your other supporting mods.

Personally, I like the 1.0XTR. But for drag racing (where spool is almost irrelevant) the 2.0 will definitely be faster.

Generally its better to buy more (i.e., bigger) turbo than you think you need. That way you don't get the urge to upgrade. Plus you can run lower boost and get lower back pressure.

The way I see it both need the same supporting mods, cams and springs are about $1000 and a fp green is upgrade about the same, maybe a little more for a red.

E85 is not a option, car will be on 93
The 9 cams are good enough for moderate levels and you can always add boost to make up the difference over cams. If the engine is in good shape I would just change the turbocharger. Its not going to rev over 8000 and with good tuning the cylinder pressure will be in check.
The Red should make 430-450 safely on 93oct . I wasn't able to find any clean dynojet graphs on the Blouch/bbk stuff so I went with what was proven to make power.
If you need more power on pump then go with a larger turbo or turbo kit. A meth kit just to cool the charge is also a good idea.

I'll vouch for an MHI red. My 8 (no mivec) has 20psi at 4K, and 32 at 4500 in 3rd. It's a great turbo. With mivec it'll spool about 200-300 rpms faster. Idk how the cams effect spool since I did cams before the turbo. If I was to do it again, I would do the turbo first. On E85, the cams only picked up about 15whp with the 9 turbo. The little guy is just out of breath.

I wish Blouch gave some more info on their website. Would a dominator 1 require a oil filter housing feed line like the fp red ?

And FP still does the upgrades but I'm not sure if I can do 4 -5 weeks down time. Then their other fp red requires a custom down pipe, tail wg and the works.

Any other recombination comparable to a fp red ?

With no VAT and current exchange rates its actually a bargain.
£1,454.16 = $1,918.40 JB
£1,870.83 = $2,468.09 BB

A blouch 2.0 would be close. The blouch turbos run on the stock oil lines. Find a good core 9 turbo (no cracks in the exhaust housing) and have it upgraded. Then you won't have down time.

This is the crack you're looking for. It's to take the Vband off and pop the housing off to check for.

Unless FP has the turbo you want sitting on their shelf, there will be wait time. I wonder if people ever got their FP54's
