sleeving the 4g63

I got mine sleved. I thought it would be better because the block is cast iron, which I assumed is weaker then the sleeves?

People that don't have iron blocks usually use sleeves. I don't think I've ever seen a sleeved iron block, come to think of it.

good condition blocks have creeped to 1000. sold one on ebay two months ago that was 20 over and needed 40 over and I still got 1100 for it.

I have single sleeved many 4g63 blocks. bringing them back to usable stock bore condition. costs about 240 to do it here in tampa.

my dad has a sleeve in one cylinder in his block, but then again its a stock rebuilt motor. 1970 motor at that. maybe 450 hp big block v8.

Sounds scary but if it works, it works!

Like I said: if you need your car on the road and that's your only alternative, I get it. I'm not sure I would want to run a lot of RPM or cylinder pressure on it, though. Then again, I have seen people have good results on sleeved blocks. My bad experience could be a rarity.

When I purchased my bare block from Schaumburg Mitsu it listed for $2000 but with shop discount I paid $1500. If you wanted to look it up it is part number 1050A060

a buddy has sleeve thought it wouldnt hold up but its at 650 whp and still going

saw another dude pushing 840 with sleeves
