~$1k to spend

Sup all,
I think I'm ready to put some mods on the EVO. I've been looking round the forums and I think I've decided on an upgrade path to stick to my roughly $1000 budget.

1. Turboback exhaust (Helix 3" downpipe, Stock Cat, Helix 3" Catback) $700
2. Dynoflash (the Mail in one) - the mail in tune seems to be really good bang for the buck if you don't have any exotic mods $200
3. Possibly something on the intake side - maybe the HKS racing suction kit. I haven't seen any dynos of this intake and not really sure if it will do anything worthwhile $320

I am hoping to get around 300+ whp.
I welcome any comments, experiences with similar mods or suggestions.

Thanks In advance all

Don't waste your $200+ on an intake. Get a turbo back exhaust, mail Dynoflash, drop in K&N filter, and an mbc. That is the perfect setup producing the best power for the $$

If that is our budget then I suggest instead of an intake, buy a boost controller.
You can get a good unit for under $100, and the performance gain will be more than
just an intake alone, considering your other mods.
The combo of the MBC with the flash will get you more hp in the higher rpm range.

So for ~$1000 - the exhaust, MBC and the Mail Flash will yield the best bang for your buck.

edit: yep what broeli said - man you beat me to it ...

Does a reflash not do anything for the boost? Why get an MBC and reflashed? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

With the Dynoflash you need an mbc/ebc. The flash doesn't set boost. With the P2 Works flash you don't need boost control...it's integrated with a different pill...but it is also a good bit more expensive.

Doesn't the price balance out when you consider getting the MBC and the reflash and installing both when you could just get the Works flash and be done?

No.
Dynoflash + mbc = $250
Works P2 = around $500-600

Go with Vishnu stage sub-zero with xedeflash. Safe, upgradeable, tons of power, and if you want to ever go back to stock, it would only take a few minutes. You can sell and xede, but you can't sell a reflash. Price: $995.

used de-cat pipe $70
HKS EVC EZ2 $300
K&N drop-in filter $80
used Tomei ECU $350
and still $$ left for a boost gauge.
