arp 1x1 method
We had a customer (evo 8) a few years back.......made 850HP on a dynopack then over pressurised the cooling system and had to stop. That was with E85.
The dyno man told the customer the usual BS that he needed the ARP studs because the bolts weren't strong enough, (me, I just did the usual and rolled around laughing).
The engine got a rebuild with ARP studs, went back on the dyno made 850HP again, over pressurised the cooling system again.
The engine had another rebuild only the block was O ringed.
It went back on the dyno , made about 800 HP with a safer tune. was left like that.
Last time I saw the customer........how's the car?
Can't afford to drive it.
Bad tuners....bad parts.......overly enthusiastic dumb customers, think that money can buy as much power. as you want.
The fact is that where the HG leaks is mid way between the bolts, not AT the bolts.
Leaking HGs is never a bolt problem but a head problem.
People who sell parts want you to think otherwise.

That's fine, obviously studs are not going to solve an issue with a warped head, poor tuning, or compromised HG.
But to say they do nothing is completely incorrect. My current engine builder does not sell any parts whatsoever but 100% recommendeds and uses ARP Fateners where applicable.

Ugghh another clueless Evo owner. Unfortunately this is what happens when a great platform gets old. The cars are now affordable to people that have no business owning it in the first place, crap parts, crap tunes, crap builds, and cars that are constantly blowing up. What shop do you work for? This way if I know anyone in your area I can steer them far far away.
Poor Evos.
Poor Evos.
He is right, also wheels, tires, brakes, engine, and exhaust, are all overrated as well.
You MUST decide what kinds of stickers and especially placement of said stickers, as the most beneficial factors in improving performance. This is true of Hondas but definitely even more important on Evo's
