new max lock diffs are loud af prebreakin. after its broken in, it dies down a lot. mine is quiet driving in a straight line, but on turns when you give it gas or turning at low speeds you'll hear the plates locking up. its doing what its supposed to.

 

Off topic:

I want to get a TRE rear differential. It seems like it would be easier to buy one used than order it from TRE. I haven't seen any up for sale. I got a stock Evo 9 rear differential that I could trade plus cash.

 

I called TRE, got ahold of Jon the second time I called. Ordered over the phone and my diff shipped out in 2 days. I had to hound him a little to get my core refund, but I know they are busy. No ragrets for me

 

Email him too. Also call earlier in the AM if possible. May be a bit rough to reach him, but its worth it.
