Gen 2 gtx3076r vs. gtx3576r help

I am in the middle of selecting a turbo. I have spent the past 4 days searching and reading try to figure which would be the better choice.

The more I have read the further I get from a decision.

the two that I am torn between are gen 2 gtx3576r .61 and gtx3076r 1.01

about the car.
evo 8
ets stock flange manifold
ams intercooler
1200cc fic
twin 455 lph e85
gs2 cams
behive valve springs

car is currently 2.0 stock short block.
but will be building the bottom and increasing displacement. Not positive which displacement but greater than 2.2.

i am not looking to break 700hp, would like the quickest spool up.

So so looking for some insight for some gtx gen 2 users.

Thanks to to all I appreciate the help.

Search the forum.

There are some comparisons on spool and apparently you don't lose much going to the GT35 turbine. In my opinion the GT30 turbine mated to the GTX76mm compressor is a bit of a mismatch. The compressor outflows the turbine by a large margin.

I DO NOT have experience with either of these turbos.

i have come across the the fact that the gtx35 was able to reach 30psi quicker than the gtx30. From the little I know I couldn't imagine that being true. Just try to follow up the information that I came across with others opinion.

Which housing would you think with the gtx3576r to run on a 2.0? I will switch the cover once the bottom end is swapped.

What are your power goals?

I personally lean toward twin scroll setups. If you are thinking open scroll then the FPRed may be another turbo to consider. It will have similar spool to the 3076 but make power like the 3576.

I am more familiar with the first gen though so the gen2 garters may have some magic sauce which makes them spool faster and make more power then the red.

I am thinking about a EFR8374 or gen 2 3582 in twin scroll. Looking for close to 600 though.

i was heavily leaning towards an efr setup but cost is a factor. I am currently running a fp green. I was hoping that gen 2 gtx in atp frame would be a quick spooling high hp alternative.

What is your hp goal? I would go Blouch Dominator 1.0/2.0/3.0 over an ATP setup.

An FPBlack w/E85 will get you there, buts its not what I would consider quick spool. If you have the $$$ a FullRace EFR kit is likely the 'best' option. If you are on a budget check out ETS turbo kits. Plenty of 6266/6466 E85 dyno charts in the 600whp range.

FP Red with a 2.2slr (94mm crank, 153mm rods, custom pistons) on E85 will be the ticket here.

Wouldn't an EFR outspool the FP Red (especially now that they are single scroll)?
Here is a 600hp 7670 EFR setup. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...yno-graph.html

I don't have to worry about the turbine wheel falling off of my FP red, thus turning my turbo into a $2500 paper weight.

Oh, and no, it wouldn't. Just need a good 10.5 hot side to send to FP.

There's your problem lol. The blouch 2.0 will do close to 600 on the Evo.

As long as you run the EFR within its RPM constraints that will take care of 99.9% of the potential for failure. Most of the failures were with early build 80mm wheels too.
