87 oct. when tuned on 93
Hey guys and gals,
I'm a bit pissed off right now.. So, in NJ, it is illegal to fill your own gas tanks, so they have people there that do it for you. My evo is tuned on 93 and I specifically asked for 93, but the guy put in 87. What should I do? Do you think its fine just for this one tank?
Thanks for any help.

Yikes! Definitely stay off boost.
I would add in a half to whole gallon of E85 to bump the octane up. Or find an octane booster to add (like turbo 104). Definitely wait for tuners to chime in before you do this. Even after adding, I would drive until empty and refuel with premium and add octane booster one more time.

Or dump a bottle of Torco in it.
Or stay out of boost for a whole tank of fuel.

2 gallons would get it to around 90, and then the fact that it's alcohol would help further. Still wouldn't bang on it, but the car would run better.

Years ago I was in a dusty little village in Eastern Colorado and the only gas available was 85 octane. It was that or walk. It ran until I was able to obtain real gas. This would be about the same as 87 at lower altitude.
