Unhappy Differential/driveshaft clunk after Act 6 puck

Whats up yall.

Recently swapped my hdss clutch to a act hdss pressure plate and a ceramic sprung 6 puck.

Im now getting a violent clunk while reversing or taking off from the rear of the car.

Mustache bar and diff bushings are new.

Anyone run into this issue?

If you're hearing the diff making clunking noise, you can send it out for a rebuild What you're hearing is excess play in the carrier, where the spider and side gears are. Mine quit making the clunking noises after TRE went through it.

I ran act 6-puck for many years with no issue. I did start to generate a rear end clunk so purchased the diff bushings set. After examination, I only used the mustache bar bushings and left the others stock. Resolved the clunking so not specifically related to type of clutch you have. If you have a clunk you need to locate the source of the noise and address it there.

Ok, but if the clunk is coming from the rear then how can it be the clutch? The clutch engagement of the 6-puck might enhance the clunk, but it would not be a clutch issue. Make sure your suspension components are tight (check them all) and I've personally seen the bottom bolt of the strut loose causing a similar noise. Also, could be a worn u-joint in the driveshaft so check that as well.

This spring, working my car, I found the drive shaft rubber lobro boot had turned to powder and the joint was open to the air. Might look there.

Mine clunks and whines since installing bushings. I did all but the mustache bar.

Our cars are noisy anyway, so I don't worry about it 'till something breaks

You can kit the lobro joint, I suggest you do it as soon as possible. Road grime will destroy it. One caveat here, check the u-joints first, they are not serviceable.

Now I'm going to go google lobro joint.
