Cold start enrichment maps may be incorrect.

Do you have a tactrix cable to check the ROM?

Even if the A/C was on all the time, the car shouldn't die. There is another issue.

I have the same issue after I got my cams installed and tuned. I think the tuned is incorrect on my car causing this issue but I havent gotten around to fix it yet. Im fixing a few odds and ends right now, Ill probably get a retune once i get all the maintenance things out of the way.

If this was a tune issue why would if just start all the sudden? I will get it checked out eventually but I’m not convinced that’s the issue.

first you fix mechanical issues, then you tune. Otherwise you are just tuning around mechanical issues, which will require a retune if/when you do fix the mechanical issue.

Hmm. Maybe they got a tune with something bad. I guess either way I should have that checked.

once you are sure there are no longer any mechanical issues, and the problem persists, then yah take it in for a retune. Gather up any mods you wanna do before hand though to try and get the most out of that tuning session. Just know that tuning cold start / warm up is very difficult to dial down in a typical tuning session because the car is only cold once a day, and how cold it is depends alot on the climate/weather so its not really straight forward. Still any good tuner should have some base lines to work from that will get you pretty close.

I didn't see you mention it, but have you tried new spark plugs, properly gapped.

The spark plugs don’t have 5k miles on them. I pulled them out recently and checked and they seemed ok. Guess I should get cams then a tune. Idk if I said this but the whole problem started with it reving up to like 2k when it was cold. It’s still kinda doing that but not as bad since I cleaned the throttle body and replaced the iacv.

2 things, cleaning the throttle body can cause some changes that may require a retune. There is a coating inside the throttle body applied by the factory that looks like a bunch of black gunk but actually serves a purpose. So that could be throwing some stuff off a bit. Second did you use an OEM IACV, the crazy overpriced one?, because all the cheap ones you can find all over the place are known to be crap.

Also I believe you said you did boost leak tests, but specifically did you find any leaks around the throttle body shaft seals, BISS O-ring or the warm up valve O-ring of the throttle body?

haven’t checked the throttle body for leaks yet because I’m thinking I need a new one anyway. Someone completely stripped the biss screw.
