Very informative video series on the new X series line from Injector Dynamics and Bosch.

Thats the video that convinced me to run ID injectors. Ended up with ID 1300X.

ID makes nice stuff but I'm not quite in agreeance. I see these (and other high end high impedance injectors) most fitting for a high power street car because the most significant advantage is idle ability. I don't think I've ever spoken with someone who's said they're dissatisfied with their race car because it has a rough or high idle.

The only time I would think differently is if you needed extremely good control at high RPM, like 10-12k+ RPM. And at speeds that high, a set of injectors is a drop in the bucket as far as cost.

Also, I'm mildly put off about spending a grand for a set of injectors. On your 1000hp street build that you want to drive to church on Sunday, it'd be no question. But for just about anything else, there are cheaper options that won't let you down.

Actually I was thinking of this video:

But a good flowing, motorsport injector with good idle and low load/rpm manors on e85 is worth it IMO.

None of them are a grand, they're around $750-$800 once you haggle with a vendor. But I do somewhat they're barking up the wrong tree with idle stability when talking about race cars. I would say they are much easier to get scaled and latencies dialed in then cheaper injectors. In ID's case, the scaling and latencies they provide are usually a great starting point.

On the other hand, A LOT of guys drive their big power cars on the street, and decent drivability and idle stability is important.

List price off ID's site hovers right under a grand. The 1700s literally are $250 a pop off ID's site. I'm sure there's plenty of places you can save a bit on that.

I'm not knocking ID's products, as they really are top notch. IMO not everyone needs the best of the best for a set of injectors. With that said, the 1050 isn't nearly as bad on price, only a bit more expensive than other options of similar size. Funny that stepping up to the 1300 almost doubles the price.

Who pays list?

Also, basically the same injectors from FIC retail for around $800.

Depends which injectors you're looking at. The 1800 low z ones are only like $550 IIRC. My low z FIC 1100s haven't ever given me any problems. That's not to say that the 1800's would be as easy to work with but if they didn't work chances are they wouldn't be sold.

This is my exact gripe as well. I feel like a 1300 would probably suit me perfectly but FIC doesnt make a 1300 so Id be looking at their 1650 but huge jump in price and right inline then with the ID1300s.

I was referring to the Hi-Z injectors, which are more of a direct comparison.
