i have a 6 speed evo 8, i want to go to a 5 speed transmission on it because of power goals, but i cant find any 5 speed evo 8 transmission, the only 5 speed i can find is from evo 6.

can a evo 6, 5 speed transmission go into my evo 8?

it has the links,harness,shifter plate etc.

 

5 speed from evo 5/6 much nicer for drag racing

long 1st gear (same ratio as evo 9)

3rd and 4th are the same as Evo 8 5 speed.

 

What about the 5th gear and final drive ?

Evo 6 5th gear and final ratio its the same to the evo 8 5MT. The only change its the 1st gear same to evo 9 1st.

 

I think OP wants to know if the evo6 gearbox will bolt up to his evo 8

 

I have an evo ix mr (JDM) and installed a 5 speed evo 6 box (W5M51-2-X6A5 ) . transfer case bolted on to the box , so I see why it should not work on an evo viii.
