Evo 8 block for evo 4

Sorry to resurrect old questions but I needed a definitive answer...I found an evo 8 block for sale locally and wanted to know if the evo 8 block will bolt up to the evo 4 head...

plan is to buy the 8 block and build both the evo 8 block and evo 4 head...will the evo 4 trans bolt up to the evo 8 motor?

Yes, I searched these current active threads:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ge...t-evo-4-a.html

This was the closest thing I got to an answer in another thread

What you can't do is bolt an evo 7-9 transfer case to an evo 4-6 and vice versa due to different sub frame design.
Also some other information that may be useful to future users from other threads

I would imagine the 8 wouldn't be much different. It's still a good idea to bring across the turbo and ecu for better gains.

Yes sir. Evo 8 block fit with Evo 4 head, no problem.
Evo 4-8 its the same. Even, evo 9 block fit in evo 4-8 head make a little adjustments in the block.

it has different type of thrust bearing.... it is single piece main and thrust bearing and it usually goes bad when dealing with uprated clutches. Later blocks had separate thrust bearings..
