Evo IV-IX transmission and transfer case

Hi, so I'm doing a auto to manual swap on a 4G64 hybrid and need to know if the IV transmission and VIII are the same? I mean do they use the same mounts and axle sizes? Also is the transfer case the same ? Will a IV transmission work with a VIII x case? Thanks

Transmissions are interchangeable and evo4-6 and evo 7-9 transfer cases will bolt up, they have the same mounting face.

What you can't do is bolt an evo 7-9 transfer case to an evo 4-6 and vice versa due to different sub frame design.

My set up isn't going into a lancer or mirage or Evo. But what you are saying is that the trans 4-9 are all exactly the same correct ? Mounting and figment wise. And if I use a 4 trans I can bolt on a 8 TransferCase and it'll work yes?

the 5 speed trans are the same trans w5m51 the Tcases are different thou. Why not make it easy and get a good W5m51 5 speed and a 03-06 Tcase non ACD? I dont think the earlier Tcases were any better then the 03-04 Tcases with exception to the 04 RS tcase of course.

The evo4-6 transfer cases have the output on the bottom while the evo7-9s have it up the top, which is why they are not interchangeable, even though they do bolt onto the gearbox.

So I can use an evo 4 transmission and tcase with an evo 8 motor? I am looking into this as I need to replace my motor...

I have a lead on an evo 8 block and could just put the evo 4 head on that...probably less work?
