Oil Light flickering
I like liquid thread sealant, I don't have to think about which way to wrap it around the threads so it doesn't come undone...LOL.
Also, the permatex stuff linked in here does not dry. So, similar to tape, it can tightened further at any time and you won't defeat it.

I've used teflon tape in the past as well as the permatex liquid thread sealant on oil fittings as it's high temp. My all time favorite thread sealant is Tru-Blu. This stuff is thick and really helps to seal the crap out of stuff, so as long as it doesn't get too hot (although it would probably work then too). It works for acids, gases, and various materials in a high vibration environment. I have used it on NPT fuel fittings and NPT boost nozzles.
