Weird Issue
Weird Issue
As the title says this is a really odd issue. Ive asked many knowledgeable friends as well as my tuner, Raif from RRT and everyone is dumbfounded and i have not received a solid answer as of yet.
Basicallyy issue is when i hit bumps my RPM’s stick at 2k rpms. It makes no sense i know, but over the past 5 months its only when i hit bumps that this happens and mainly on the passenger side. Im just hoping someone on here may have dealt with this that can give me a definite answer before i have to send it to Raif and spend a fortune so he can figure it out.
And if you have a smartass answer like “jUsT aVoId BuMpS bRo” just save it. I live in NY. Potholes and bumps are all we have here

I had an issue almost like yours, when I hit a bump the car work jerk, after logging it I found the TPS reading would drop randomly. After digging and tracing we found the TPS signal wire was cut by the ecu and only hanging on by 1 or 2 copper threads.
The ECU is on the passenger side, have you check the harness and/or pins? Have you logged the car while trying to simulate the 2k stall?
I'm also from NYC, I have the evoscan and cable so if you need to use it let me know.

But seriously, blackline has about covered it. Log TPS, and check values. Sounds wiring related, unless your throttle cable is binding up. Check the tension on it as well. If it's tight, try giving it some slack.

Gotcha, What have you tried from July 2018 to now?
- Did you check the connection to the ECU?
- Did you check the connection to the TPS?
- Have you replaced the TPS?
- Are you running a stock TB?
- Are you running the throttle cable via stock route or did you tuck it?
- have you taken it to another shop to inspect(Not saying RRT isnt a great shop but sometimes a second/fresh set of eye help)
Since the summer ive checked all the wiring to the ecu and TPS and yes stock throttle body buy i have a new s90 70mm sitting at home. My brother and i are both trying to figure it out and he works at another shop (DDA tuned). I think i might just take it back to RRT and let raif check it out since i plan on running e85 rhis year anyway
