Ordered 71hta... received 71htz...

I didnt know a 71htz existed. What is the difference compared to a 71hta? I ordered directly from FP. I haven't reached out to them yet. Thoughts.

They've updated the aero of the compressor wheel. It's an improvement over the HTA.

any specs? I currently have a 71hta, is it worth picking up a 71htz and selling the 71hta?

Not really. It flow like and extra 2-3lbs/min

That was available before. The housing has nothing to do with the aero of the wheel.

Curious too but I would need to send OE IX in to keep the OEM housing since im in Cali which is getting crazy on aftermarket parts.

Wonder if surge will be a problem with the higher flow and IX cover. Also if longevity will improve with the HTZ over the HTA

The A to Z upgrade was just a change to the compressor wheel to flow more. That's not going to have any affect, positive or negative, on longevity/reliability.

I think he meant the surge housing, since he wants to keep the stock one since hes in Cali.

This HTZ has a riveted FP ID plate unlike the HTA w/no plate

Just checked the FP site & see no reference to this 71HTZ

This could explain why the price went up $100; No more HTA scraps to use.
As for the plate, I just removed the rivets from my green. The hard part was removing the "fp" that's cast onto the cover.

OP did you ever confirmed with FP if the 71HTZ and 71 HTA are different?
