GReddy BOV Type S... how to DIY ?

Well I just got my GReddy Type S BOV in the mail and I'm thinking about installing ... but after I ordered the BOV I have read a lot of threads on the forum saying the BOV might cause minor problems on the EVO... these being that releasing air in to the atmosphere can cause wrong readings in the MAS .... and thus causing bucking or hestation on lift-throttle ... and this might cause some clogging as well ...

being a noob and all readin the READ ME thread up top ... only half of it really made sense to me ... (https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...threadid=24611)

I was wondering if anyone here can explain it a little clearer as to how to install it and adjust the springs in the GReddy BOV to obtain optimum performance in the car ... as well as how to properly maintain the BOV ...

I've also heard ppl saying that the car might completely stall (or higher chances of stalling) with the installment of the BOV at low throttle?? ... what exactly causes this ? and is there a good way to prevent this ?

Also ... I drive long trips on the EVO fairly often .. will installing the BOV cause me any troubles? or any special precautions I need to make ?

Thanks a lot for your help guys ... much appreicated ...

Here is a link that shows you step by step to get it to work like a stock BOV. I would suggest doing the single spring mod as described below.

watsup buddy... well i got the greddy type s in my car that feeds back into the intake.. FIrst of all make sure its not vented to the atmosphere, but rather feeds back into the intake. Second of all, don't try and install the bov without taking out the smaller of the two springs. I drove around with my greddy type s with both springs in it for about a month, and it seriously made me paranoid to drive at low RPMS. SO might as well do it now bc it really doesn't make a difference. (note: once you get up to really high WHP with upgraded turbo etc... make sure u keep the smaller spring and add it in). You're gonna see 5 or 6 tiny allen wrench screws on the top of the BOV. Unscrew them...but you want to hold down the top bc the springs will shoot out everwhere if you don't support it. SO make sure when u unscrew the last few screws... u gotta support the top. THere are gonna be two springs, a smaller spring within the other. Just take out the smaller spring, put the big spring back in.... set the little plate with the little bump facing up... and set ur top back on. Make sure u get a good look at ur bov before u disamble so u know which way to properly assemble it back. Put in ur screws....and ur basically done with everything except for installing it into ur car.

well **** i forgot i didn't have to explain all that... here's a website that does it... http://www.evomoto.com/tech_info.php?techID=28

and here's how to install it into ur car http://www.evomoto.com/tech_info.php?techID=23

in addition if i do the single spring mod as stated on evomoto's webpage .... and WITHOUT making the lower vacuum port connection .... does that mean that the BOV is already fed back into the intake ?

thanks !

Well I just got mine installed ... but it doesn't have much of a "whoosh" noise ... but its got more of a high pitch whistling sound ...

i took out the short spring ... how should i adjust the hardness of the spring to make it more of a "whoosh noise" ?

thanks ...
