Service Engine Soon light after installing MBC

Hey guys, I got this light yesterday while putting in my MBC - I disconnected the neg battery wire and it went away...Guessing that it always comes up each time you disconnect the mass air flow sensor?? Today I made some adjustments and had to take the air box out again and again the light came on afterwards...Is this normal or should I take it to Autozone and have them check the error?

Make sure the MAS is plugged in all the way. If the sensor is unplugged when you start the car, it's going to throw the SES light.

If you still have the problem, take it to Autozone and have them pull the code for you.

Yeah, you should check what the CEL/SES/MIL is, otherwise we're just guessing. Another possibility is that the boost control solenoid is disconnected, this will cause an error too.

1. Make sure the MAF is plugged in.
2. Make sure there are no vac lines that are loose, especially if the car idles kind of low.
3. Make sure the stock BCS (Solenoid) is plugged in even though the vac lines arent being used.
