Yes, disconnecting the battery resets the ECU. The ECU then has to go through certain drive phases for approximately 100 miles before it "re learns" information and all.
Let me know how emissions goes with the test pipe.

100 mi is too much!
Here's what i did, after diconnecting bat. drive around 5-10 mi BUT you should perform
combination of stop shut down engine then start, drive again few times to get Ecu into cycle
works for me!

Yes, sorry I should be more clear. The car has to go through "cycles" such as highway speeds, city speeds, etc. I am unsure of the exact amount of mileage or time needed, but 100 miles should have you in the clear. I am going off what my old VW GTI required which was approximately 70 miles in different cycles.

For the drive cycles to complete properly you have to have more than a 1/4 tank of gas, and less than 3/4 tank.
The car also has to go through a temperature change of more than 60* F. So let it cool down overnight.
Then when you go to drive it, fully warm it up, do some light to light driving, and then get on the highway and drive at 50-60mph on a steady light load for 10 minutes or so.
After, try to let the car go through some decel cruise. That should cover it.
or, you could buy yourself this little tool-->
http://www.thetoolwarehouse.net/p-1125-equus-3120.aspx
With it, you can see when the OBDII monitors complete. You don't need ALL of them to complete to pass emissions. If you get all but 1, it will pass. The tool is also great for pulling codes, and looking at your long term and short term fuel trims without years of logging.
(you have to buy the model with live data, but worth it IMO)
