acceleration problem! Help?

My evo 9 is stock btw. so when i punch my car. The car hits boost but my car respond a second slow. so i was wondering if anybody would have an idea for what i should check before i take it to the shop. Btw i just replace my clutch when it was about 60k and now its about at 82k so not sure if its the clutch. My clutch is also ACT Sprung Street Disc. i dont even launch my evo so not really sure what the problem is. Also it is not a BOOST LEAKS. I check it already. so if u guy have any suggestion on what i should check please lmk before i take it to the shop. Thanks to whoever reads this!

you dont have to launch to wear out a clutch. depends on your driving habits. a video might help. you mean it gets into boost slow or the after boost it doesnt go?

Could be a lot of things based on your description. As bhsj13 says, a video might help. If you haven't replaced the spark plugs in a long time (or ever), you could be seeing a hesitation or misfire due to old plugs when getting into boost, which will feel like "slow" response.

Do you have a boost gauge in the car? If so, how many PSI? Any weird sounds? Bucking? Smoke? There could be a ton of different things going on. Could be a tune issue. Could be fueling. When you say you checked for boost leaks, what did you do? Have you done a compression or leak down test? A lot of variables here. Check all your vacuum lines.

I do have a boost gauge but my car is completely stock. My car hits stock boost when punching it but like I said my car respond a second slower. No smoking coming from the car.

It could be pulled timing due to excessive knock.

That's what I was thinking, but it takes a little bit before you get your timing back after knock has ended so probably would feel more than just a hesitation.

OP, how long does your hesitation last? Are talking a second or a few seconds? If it feels like it takes a second(or less) before the power hits and it hits hard when it finally does, I'd look into your motor/transmission mounts. When mine went bad the car felt like someone had suddenly changed the accel enrichment tables on me
