Best turbo option for RHD EVO 8 GSR??

I currently own an Evo 8 with full bolt ons here is a list of my parts:
  • 1200cc PTE Fuel Injectors
  • AMS Shifter Base Bushings
  • AMS Under Hood Shifter Bushings
  • NGK BPR8ES Spark Plugs
  • Walbro 255 LPH High Pressure GSS342 Fuel Pump
  • Megan Racing 3" Cat Back Exhaust System
  • Invidia 3" Downpipe - 76MM
  • Ultimate Racing High-Flow Ceramic Cat 3”
I am currently looking to purchase a bolt on turbo (preferably) or get a turbo kit if its worth it.
My goal is to hit about 400-600whp. My next set of parts are going to be camshafts so if anyone has any suggestions please drop them below.
I was looking at FP turbos or a Forward-Facing 6870 V-Band Turbo Kit from STMTuned.
Please leave your suggestions below, thanks!

That fuel system is only going to be good for pump gas. And with that parts list the last thing you should be looking at is a forward facing 6870.

You're not really at full bolt ons with that list; you still need an intercooler, intercooler piping, O2 housing, intake, speed density conversion, etc. And you need to ditch the cat.

But I would put an Forced Performance MHI Red on it. For cams I would go with GSC S2's and the appropriate GSC 5040 spring/retainer kit.

There isn't much E85 in Toronto, so that's out anyway.
There is a massive difference between a 400hp setup and 600hp setup, but you're just directly contradicting yourself here. You want a bolt-on turbo, but you're shopping for a forward-facing kit? My response was going to be FP/MHI Red with GSC S2s, but it's already been said.

I forgot to include that I have an intercooler, intercooler piping and intake. I will need the o2 housing and speed density conversion.

May I ask why I should ditch the cat tho? I am running my car with no cat right now and it seems like oil is clogged in the exhaust and doesnt allow for maximum airflow.

No I am open to all options, if I have to change my setup to run a foward facing kit turbo I will, but if it is not worth it id rather just run a bolt on.

Basically im just asking for whats the most recommended turbo.

There should not be oil in the exhaust. Black would be running rich so if it is running very rich then it could be black in the exhaust but to clog it up? Dont think so

No cat is max airflow. The car needs to be tuned for it though.

So you are limited on pump gas. To be able to hit 600whp on pump gas is not an easy task, especially on stock block. You have to decide what exaclty is your goal as 400whp to 600whp goal differs. If eventually decide to build the block, then buy a turbo to have room to grow up later (FP Black etc). But if you decide to stay stock block and you like early spool with 400-500whp, then i think FP Red is the best option. As letsgetthisdone said, 6870 is not a good option. It is a 1100hp rated turbo and as you are on stock block, you cannot rev to the moon to spin this turbo, so you will be rpm and spool limited. I bet you will spool it around 6k with 8k max, so you will have at most a 2k broadband.

Also, i think s2 is the best cam for your goal, or even r2. Fuel pump won't be enough even on pump gas. Get a new 450 wally and you should be good

I would say my goal for now is 400whp because as you said its a hard task to hit 600whp on a stock block. Currently my car is being tuned so once I get it back I will finish the remaining parts I have and then get the turbo. I heard from a lot of sources that FP is a good turbo for evos so I think im going to stick with that.

youre tune now is costing money, then you'll need another tune with the FPred and s2 cams and springs, I'd go ID1300x too but your 1200s will do
