Was just wondering what some of the TRE built guys are running? I was leaning towards Redline 75w90NS GL5 (58304) for the transmission and Redline 80w140 (58104) for the transfer case. All these recommendations were from TRE’s page but reading on the forums some people say not to use GL5 for the trans cause it eats up the synchros? Any suggestions? Comments? Thanks in advance!

 

I stick with oem fluids.

 

OEM is 100% not recommended by Jon, especially at more than stock power levels. He also says to no longer use the oem LSD90 fluid. Something changed with it when it got discontinued and then came back, and he has seen tcase failures because of it.

His trans and tcase both come with a "care and feeding instructions sheet". You should be running something on that list.

I run motul gear300 in the trans, and redline 80w250 in the tcase and rear diff.

The 75w90NS would likely be good for a non-daily driver that makes over 7-750whp.

 

Motul all around here per his recommendation.
