T-Case Oil Ring Replacement Advice

Hey guys!

So I just recently got my '06 Evo IX back together and running. I've noticed that there has been a small leak under the car at times. I put the car back on the lift and isolated that the leak is coming from between the T-Case and Tranny. After doing a lot of reading this morning I realize that it is most likely one or both of the O-rings that get sandwiched in there. Pic below for reference.

On to the reason I am making this thread. I was hoping to get some advice and tips on the simplest way to replace these guys. I'm hoping that someone has done this with the engine and trans still in the car, cause I'd really hate to pull that stuff back out of there. I did see that some guys have used some gasket maker, or other compounds to help hold the upper ring in place during assembly. Which sounds smart cause I doubt that little recess would hold the ring very well without something. Again, just hoping for some tips and advice on how to replace these in the simplest way.

Thanks ahead of time for any help! I really appreciate it.

You just need to pull the tcase off the trans. The tcase can stay in the car though (the trans and engine can certainly stay, the tcase can come out with both of those still in if for some reason you want to completely remove the tcase). You also only need to drain the trans fluid. The case won't lose any fluid just pulling it off the trans.

You basically just need to drain trans, remove down-pipe, pull both axles, pull the driver side stub shaft, unbolt the tcase from the trans, and slide the tcase over enough to access those orings. You shouldn't even need to lower the sub frame. (I think that's everything LOL)
