Big power DD friendly clutches? 700whp
Big power DD friendly clutches? 700whp
Or at least ones that dont chatter and die in traffic?
I'm running the EXE-MM022HD at 600whp thinking about going up to 700whp on a 2.0L to mitigate crazy torque but are there any other solutions? Or must I step it up to the triple?
EXE-MM023HR
The clamp load between the two are the same.

The concern is torque, not HP. The Exedy HD twin will handle about 575wtq no issue.
I would not recommend the triple for every day use and it is a solid hub clutch, no damper springs.

Yeah that is true. The first time I did the discs on my triple I had that really bad hub wear and it was twisted. After I talked to Exedy about it they said yeah bad material yadda yadda so put a new one in and it was fine the next time I had to redo the discs. Last year I was talking to my buddy Evan who works on the technical support side at Exedy as I had a problem with my clutch and it was as it wore out from wear over the last year or so it was backed out to far (from the video that Jacks did) and as it wore out it actually wore enough where it got stuck from being out so far and ate all the splines out of not only the discs but put a bunch of wear on the hub itself. I could have reused the hub being it wasn't that bad but better to be safe then sorry. Evan told me no man you have it out way to far that Exedy wants the clutch pedal to be about 1" top 2" off the floor to start engaging. Mine didn't do that, mine was about 6 or so inches off the floor about half way up and started to grab. Now my car is down again for the control arms I haven't had a moment to drive it but I will fix that issue when its done being I have some other issues I wanna look at before I go and do all that. I am not saying Jacks is wrong or thats improper adjustment of the clutch pedal but I will say keep it closer to the floor where the trans still wants to shift in all gears and you should be fine. Sorry for the book lol.
OS Giken R2CD, hands down. I have no idea why this forum isn't embracing these.
It's a heavier assembly so it's good for the street. Sprung hub that's soft so it won't eat the input shaft splines or wreck synchros. It will handle all the torque you need it to (880 ft-lbs), but with a lighter pedal. It's still going to be noisy (every twin will be), but it's pretty much as good as it gets for a streetable twin for high-powered cars.
