Hi all, just have a quick question. I have a 9 RS and it has the front A/C fan, however the car has no A/C from the factory. Why is this? Does a serve another purpose? Can it be removed with no issues? I don't recall ever seeing it turn on. Thanks in advance.
It should have ac my rs has ac in it. As far as I know they all had ac that were sold in the U.S.. I would check to see if it has ac lines and get it recharged if they are there.
AFAIK the RS sold in the US did come with A/C. Perhaps it was deleted by a previous owner and they just left the fan in place? Anyway I removed that fan when I deleted my A/C and didn't suffer any ill effects.

Thanks for the conformation I was pretty sure but at the same time I wasn't sure lol
The ECU will turn that AC fan on if your water temp gets high enough.
You can also ground that fan with a switch to turn it on and it will
drag through a little bit of air from behind the IC whilst stopped
in traffic. I used to have that setup on another car with a small red
light to remind me that it was on before getting out of the car.
If I had it switched off, the red light would light up telling me the
ECU has turned it on due to high temp or the AC was running. If you
have no AC condenser, you can extend the back of the fan with a bit
of rubber to be just shy of touching the radiator.

From everything I've read, it looks like the 8 RS had AC but the 9 RS does not.
Take a pic of the engine bay from the top ac stuff is on the left side looking at the car. You should also have a condenser on the drivers side of the in the bumper cover attached to the car. They would not give an ac fan and no ac. It would be someone deleted it or it isnt working
Just pulled the window sticker on my 2006 RS and its shows the AC as standard equipment. The only option my RS had was the RS package ($470.00 up charge)
That is just a plug that didn't come on cars without ac. It goes where the ac lines go through the firewall. FYI back in the day you prob could order the evo without ac being the RS was basically built to be a rally car. IDK why your looking for stuff all USDM evos came with.
