R35 GTR coils on an Evo 8/9?

Has anyone seen a set of R35 GTR coils in action on an Evo 8/9, and if so, did they work well? If yes to the latter question, what was done to get them to work?

I have a set from JDC
So far so good, I guess..
It comes with a harness, you'll have to move your connectors around a little.. And change the fuse which they will supply you with.
About 30 minutes of busy work

I don't see an advantage to them over any of the other Bosch COP coils used by spoolinup or spark tech.

Here's a comparison done by Motive of Australia:

Power output in millijoules

1. IGN-1A (Haltech/AEM) - 102.7
2-5 Nissan R35 (Hitachi); Nissan 370Z (Hanshin); Nissan R35 (Hanshin); Splitfire R35 - 54.0
6. R35 Imitation (Australia) - 48.2
7. Audi R8 - 45.1
8. Bosch Toyota Yaris - 34.0
9. Splitfire RB26 - 33.6
10. LS1 (ACDELCO) 30.5
11. LQ9 - 29.3
12. Denso Toyota Yaris - 25.6
13. Toyota Yaris Imitation - 23.7
14. R35 Imitation (China) - 23.1
15. RB25 (Used) - 15.6
16. Splitfire S15 Silvia (SR20) - 15.3

You can see how the test was done here

Hope this helps!

I still think the Bosch P100-T is going to be the best option for the money and I run them at 80mJ of spark energy despite being able to push them over 100mJ (max 118mJ). With a simple 1/8" aluminum plate the stalk height is perfect, but you do have to machine the valve cover to make them work and I think I paid ~$125/per minus connector. Downside to running such high spark energy is that plug life is significantly reduced so i would say plugs need to be replaced about every 20K-30K miles (EVO IX Plugs), but you will know because they start to miss under boost.

You can also run the AEM/Haltech IGN-1A coil that is ~103mJ (dwell saturation), but would require custom plug wires vs a COP and they are cheap at $75/per.

LOL. I guess I should have been more specific. Some time ago, I looked for the P100-T, but couldn't source them from anywhere. But R35 GTR ignition coils are looking pretty good if they actually work in an Evo. I've been contemplating Audi R8 ignition coils for some time as well.

I reached out to my source to see if they can still get them and the current cost. I will forward the response to you.

You'll need matching electrical plugs.

Yep sourcing those now actually. I saw that spoolinup has a GTR coil COP kit for the evo "Coming Soon" so I shot him a message to see if he could sell me some connectors. If not though I found JDC selling them on Ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/JDC-Skyline...IAAOSw~7JcgBds for what ever reason I couldn't find them on their website though.

If I'm really lucky they will work with my cop mounting plate without too much modification. TBD

We do sell them on the website as well. JDC Premium COP Ignition System with GT-R Coils (Evo 4-9)

We've been selling them for almost 2 years now, and we've had some great feedback. MAP is also a dealer for these kits for us. If you have any questions let me know!

Thanks for chiming in, do you by chance have a link for just the connectors to the GTR coils? I tried searching through your site but I couldn't find them.

Edit: NM I found them...
